Wakefield software developer to drive regional digital transformation following acquisition

Wakefield based software development agency, Oomph Works, plans to boost regional growth by helping local businesses transition from manual processes to fully digitised workflows.

The company, formerly known as GoMedia Ltd, is currently undergoing a rebrand following its acquisition by leading UK distributor ACI Group in October this year.

The acquisition provides the strategic platform from which the company will encourage businesses to invest in digital services that can drastically reduce the time spent on manual data input and significantly increase customer retention and end-to-end visibility.

Scott Bowers, operations manager at Oomph Works, commented: “Software like Excel remains the traditional go-to platform for many businesses today to store operational information. However, it requires employees to manually enter data and to manage this daily, which could leave businesses open to potential security breaches.

“At Oomph, we are committed to helping businesses leverage their data in a way that saves them time and reduces overall costs. With additional investment from our new owners, ACI Group, we hope to drive this digital transformation via our bespoke platform, Oomph.”

Since 2007, Oomph Works has spearheaded digital web projects for some of the region’s “most loved” sports clubs including Yorkshire Carnegie, Ossett United and Featherstone Rovers.

Most recently, the company worked with Leeds based company, RJN Decorating Limited, to replace its existing Microsoft Excel and Word filing system with Oomph, a fully functioning Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Oomph Works’ new owners, ACI Group, had recognised the potential in the company immediately and is determined to put the ‘Oomph’ into businesses that have yet to fully transition to digital workflows.

Karsten Smet, director of ACI Group, said of the acquisition: “At ACI Group, we like to do things differently. We instantly recognised that same drive and passion for challenging the status quo with the Oomph platform – and are looking forward to the exciting ways we can deliver this both to the Yorkshire region and further afield.

“Working alongside Oomph, we are currently developing a best-in-class workflow management application that orchestrates the collection, tracking and improvement of materials and supplies to benefit businesses across the supply chain.”
