Leep Utilities celebrates record-breaking month of energizations

Manchester-based Leep Utilities has recently celebrated a record-breaking month of energisations after overseeing the main power supply of 12 UK-wide sites going live.

They include Art’otel London Battersea Power Station, Axe Street landmark regeneration project in Barking, the Peel L&P Environmental waste soil wash plant facility in Greater Manchester, and Gallions Quarter, near Royal Albert Dock, London.

It’s a 220 per cent increase in a standard month for the market-leading utility company, which saw three projects delivered ahead of target - driven by, amongst other factors, residents wanting to move into their new homes and schedules being brought forward.

Leep Utilities owns, operates and maintains last-mile utility networks - delivering electricity, water and heating and cooling to hundreds of UK residential, commercial and mixed-used developments across the UK. These include Media City, Liverpool Waters, Canary Wharf and Battersea Power Station.

Following a series of competitive tender processes, its successful spell cumulated in Leep switching on the power supply for 12 prestigious projects, including the Peel L&P Environmental facility that houses a waste soil wash plant capable of recycling up to 240,000 tonnes per year of general construction demolition waste that would otherwise go to landfill.

It can recycle and recover an impressive 99 per cent of imports into the site, turning them into high quality sand, aggregates and clay to help construct Port Salford, other Peel L&P developments and third-party construction projects across Greater Manchester.

Axe Street the landmark regeneration project in Barking town centre, London and the 2,000 square metre first floor extension to Stane Retail Park, in Colchester also went live during the record month.

As did the Gallions Quarter project, a two-phase mixed-use development located over four sites, near Royal Albert Dock, in London. It includes 800 flats, 1500 square metres of non-residential space, as well as a new public square, new recreation areas, and shops and cafes.

Also amongst Leep Utilities’ 12 highly prestigious projects to go live in August is Bishops Square another landmark London site that was designed and constructed by Foster + Partners. It comprises a covered market area, 3,700 square metres of retail space, 72,000 square metres of offices, along with apartments, community facilities, cafés and restaurants.
