Leeds building services firm ‘on the road to success’ with multi-million pound project

A Yorkshire building services and engineering consultancy firm has completed an undisclosed contract to support a new multi-million-pound infrastructure project by motorways and roads operator, Highways England.

The move saw Leeds based FHP deliver a package of services including mechanical and electrical design services work alongside technical advice, around the construction of a £3.6m salt barn at the Green Park Business Park off the M62 near Newport in East Yorkshire.

Capable of holding 3,500 tonnes of road gritting salt, the facility includes a workshop for vehicle maintenance, storage for snow ploughs and other equipment, and a two-storey office. It’s also used as a site for deployment of year-round maintenance activities such as roadworks, grass cutting and litter-picking.

FHP worked closely with architects The Harris Partnership, project managers Carter Jonas and structural engineers Civic Engineers to ensure the scheme was successfully delivered.

Currently employing 56 people, this is the latest contract success for FHP, which is targeting sales revenues in excess of £3.5m by the end of the year as it continues to expand its portfolio of nationwide work across its Leeds and London operations.
