Warren Gatland to help Get A-Head at business lunch
One of the greatest figures in world rugby is heading to the Midlands to help raise cash for a special charity – and pass on his leadership knowledge to the business community.
Wales and British & Irish Lions rugby coach Warren Gatland will share his experiences of coaching at the very highest levels of the international game at the Warwickshire Business Lunch in Coventry on March 24.
The event, staged in partnership with Coventry Rugby Club and the Warwickshire business community, will raise money for the Birmingham-based Get A-Head charity, which raises vital funds for research into head and neck diseases.
Event organiser Steve Dixon, of the Do Club, said the afternoon at Coventry Rugby Club’s Butts Park Arena home would provide an unmissable insight into a great rugby coach, with tables of ten available.
Steve said: “As Head Coach of Ireland, Wales and the British & Irish Lions, as well as domestically with Connacht, Wasps, Waikato and Chiefs, Warren has had enormous success, following his playing career in New Zealand.
“Interviewed by our master of ceremonies, David Kirk, Warren will share details of his entertaining and inspiring career, giving a fascinating insight into World Rugby with a very amusing recollection of his experiences, with some of the truly great characters of the game.
“We’ll round things off with a question and answer session to ensure a really fantastic afternoon.”
Get A-Head trust chairman Tom Bromwich said he was thrilled that the event would help raise funds for the charity.
“We partnered with Steve and the Do Club last year on a clay shoot and it was a terrific success. There is no bigger name in rugby than Warren Gatland and the lessons he can give in leadership and man management will be hugely informative for the business community.
“Charities such as Get A-Head rely on events such as this to carry out our work helping transform the lives of people with head and neck cancer, and I cannot thank Warren enough for taking the time to join us.”
Get A-Head has raised more than £10million to fund research into head and neck injuries and help equip hospitals with world-leading equipment to treat patients.
Tickets for the event, which cost £78 per person, are available from https://thedoclub.co.uk/product/warwickshire-business-lunch-with-warren-gatland/
