North East Chamber of Commerce launches cost of living business support

The North East England Chamber of Commerce has launched a Cost of Living Crisis Resource to help individuals and businesses get through the current challenging economic climate.

Featuring expert knowledge, practical advice and useful tools, the Chamber has worked with “leading” North East businesses to create the free, digital resource.

John McCabe, chief executive, North East England Chamber of Commerce, commented: “The crisis in the costs of living and doing business are two sides of the same coin which is why we’ve worked with our members to produce this resource to support employers and their employees at this difficult time.

“It’s important our members know what help is available to them and the resource includes information on grants that businesses can apply for in the region to help their business to grow, protect jobs or to reduce energy costs.

“In our economic survey undertaken in the final quarter of last year, almost nine out of 10 respondents reported concerns about energy prices. We will continue to work with our members to ensure we’re doing all we can as a Chamber to help individuals and businesses weather the challenging economic headwinds.”

The Cost of Living Crisis Resource is a platform for knowledge and support and includes easy-to-use online resources, debt recovery solutions and guides on accessing business grants, all in one place.

Businesses such as Nexus, Westfield Health and Money and Muckle LLP have all contributed to the resource, presenting their expert opinions on issues such as recruiting and retaining talent and invoice recovery.

There’s also advice on looking after your wellbeing during the cost of living crisis as nearly seven in ten UK employers believe staff performance is negatively affected when employees are under financial pressure. The digital resource will be updated regularly, with other businesses keen to share their expert advice.
