London based business and technology talent specialist achieves B Corp status

Sparta Global, a provider of high-quality emerging business and technology talent, has achieved the internationally recognised Certified B Corporation status.

The B Corp certification recognises that Sparta Global has met “extremely high standards” of social and environmental impact and is actively helping to build a more “inclusive, equitable, and sustainable economy”.

To become a Certified B Corporation, companies undergo an in-depth assessment with over 300 questions on socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency, and must receive a minimum verified score of 80 on the B Impact Assessment.

Over 150,000 companies have taken the B Corp Assessment since the beginning of the B Lab movement back in 2006, but Sparta Global is now part of a community of just 6,279 businesses globally who have certified as B Corps.

Sparta Global secured an overall score of 109.4 in its B Impact Assessment, when a company must score a minimum of 80 points on the assessment in order to become a B Corp. Sparta Global’s total was based on its individual impact across the areas of governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.

David Rai, Sparta Global CEO, commented: “Sparta Global was founded to promote and provide equitable access to technology careers, whilst also helping organisations to grow their talent pipelines sustainably and responsibly.

“We are very proud of receiving the B Corp certification, which recognises that our corporate mission, values and long-term vision remains aligned with what we wanted to achieve when we launched almost a decade ago.

“Having a positive and measurable impact not only benefits our communities, the environment and the broader technology industry, but also mitigates risk for our partner investors.

“We believe service providers that deliver the highest ethical and sustainability standards bring more value to communities and economies, and we look forward to joining a network of like-minded organisations that have the power to collectively democratise digital.”

Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, added: “We are delighted to welcome Sparta Global to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good.

“We know that Sparta Global is going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward”.
