Bellway’s South East London development celebrates “extremely high” demand

More than 100 new residents have moved in at Bellway London’s Eastside Quarter development in Bexleyheath within the past two months.

The developer is building 518 apartments on the site of the former Bexley Council offices on Broadway. The first homes were released onto the market at the beginning of 2019 and 322 of the 400 properties being built for private sale have now been sold and handed over to their new owners, including 112 since mid-November.

The other 118 properties are affordable homes being provided for low-cost rent and shared ownership.

A range of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments are being built across six separate apartment buildings at the development. All properties have balconies and residents will also be able to access a rooftop terrace and communal garden.

Eastside Quarter also features other facilities on site, including 3,000 square metres of commercial floorspace on the ground floor, a private state-of-the-art gym for residents and a concierge.

Sam Norman, sales manager at Bellway London, commented: “It has been a very busy couple of months for the sales team at Eastside Quarter and it’s been great to welcome so many new faces to the growing community which has already formed at the development.

“The level of demand has been extremely high and the homes have appealed to a variety of buyers. While the development’s town centre location and close proximity to the railway station have attracted commuters, many of the buyers here have been people local to the area.

“The mix of attainably priced apartments at Eastside Quarter have proven particularly popular with first-time buyers, which is one of the reasons the development won the award for Best First Time Buyer Home in the 2022 Evening Standard New Homes Awards in November.

“We have found that first-time buyers have shown particular interest in the one and two-bedroom homes, but all our properties are well suited to a variety of buyers looking to buy a new home in Bexleyheath.”
