CBD brand takes the title of UK’s fastest growing soft drinks brand
With its growth of 522 per cent, the CBD company, TRIP, has become the fastest growing drinks brand. Cans are flying off the shelves across the country, both at TRIP warehouses and at major retail stockists including Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Boots, Ocado and Holland & Barrett.
The brand beat its rivals to the title by a staggering amount, growing at more than twice the rate of the second fastest growing brand (compared with other brands with over £500,000 sales the year before).
Combined with the company’s two Product Of The Year awards (a first for a CBD brand) and recent Glamour Wellness Award for best health drink (beating incumbents Remedy Kombucha and Biotiful Kefir), it’s clear that TRIP has become a high street favourite.
Founder Olivia Ferdi described the year’s achievements as ‘a special milestone for us, showing how far TRIP have come in our mission to destigmatize conversations about mental wellbeing and rework misconceptions about CBD, helping millions prioritise their health.’
Studies show that people are increasingly giving up drinking, and since most alcohol alternatives generally don’t have the same calming effect. In particular, Gen Z have made the big switch. In fact, among Generation Z - the most likely age group to be teetotal - 1 in 2 have now tried a CBD drink (Source: KAM Media and Drinkaware).
The other reason people are turning to TRIP is a renewed focus on mental health. Millions already find calm through the functionality of CBD drinks, a market which TRIP holds an 88 per cent share, but to give extra support to the community at the most stressful time of the year (Source: WIRED) TRIP has extended its partnership with Calm, the #1 meditation app, partnership extended due to popular demand.
With over 50 million impressions on TikTok and Instagram in January alone, it seems that TRIP’s growth will only continue. TRIP has been a ’viral sensation, drawing in millions of fans, and attracting the most organic search traffic of any CBD Drinks brand globally (source: SEMRUSH) and has the most social following & engagement of any CBD brand globally on social media channels.
