Leading shipping container firm announces raft of promotions to support business growth

Parsons Containers, one of the UK’s leading shipping container firms, which has its headquarters in Sedgefield, has made a raft of promotions across its operations to support the ongoing expansion of the business.

Founded in 2000 and operating across 11 sites in the North East and a twelfth in Grantham, Parsons Containers Group’s divisions include container sales through Parsons Containers Ltd and secure container self-storage through U Hold The Key, one of the country’s most successful brands in the sector.

The firm is working on several key projects, including the second phase of development at the latest U Hold The Key site in South Shields, and the addition of dozens of new stores at other locations. The promotions recognise the personal development of the team members involved and will support the next stage of growth at Parsons Containers.

Among the changes is the appointment of Joanne Worsley to the role of manager for real estate and key contracts. Joanne originally joined the business as customer service assistant in 2020 before being promoted to business graduate. Joanne’s new responsibilities include managing all enquiries relating to the property interests of the business, working with the management team to take forward property initiatives, and overseeing the customer service function for U Hold The Key. Joanne Wilkinson has also been promoted, from customer service assistant to customer experience manager for U Hold The Key. With over 30 years’ experience in sales administration, customer service and business development, Joanne’s new remit includes maintaining a positive customer experience for the company’s growing customer base.

Meanwhile, Paul Weir has moved from container sales coordinator to container sales manager at Parsons Containers Ltd, the arm of the business responsible for the sale and hire of shipping containers, where he will focus on managing customer enquiries and driving sales growth. Finally, Parsons has promoted Ryan Tempest from marketing technician to customer journey manager, with responsibility for improving the customer experience and journeys for both container sales and self-storage customers. As well as increasing brand exposure, Ryan will develop new and creative ways to keep the businesses at the forefront of the container industry.

Helen Parsons, finance director and general manager at Parsons Containers Group comments: “With the ongoing expansion of both the Parsons Containers Ltd and U Hold The Key businesses, it’s ever more important for us to develop a stronger understanding of the customer experience so we can continue to adapt and improve what we do in line with their needs. These four internal promotions not only recognise the hard work and commitment of our great employees, they also ensure that we have experienced, talented and committed people in place who really understand the Parsons business and ethos as we move forward with our growth plans.”
