£33m West Yorkshire housing development to deliver over 100 “much-needed” homes

Avant Homes West Yorkshire has started construction on a 12-acre site in Keighley to deliver 124 new-build homes with a gross development value (GDV) of around £33m.

Located on Shann Lane close to Keighley town centre, the development will comprise a mix of three and four-bedroom homes and feature seven of Avant Homes’ house types. Called Odette’s Point, the development received planning permission in January this year. The overall build programme is estimated to take approximately three years.

Avant Homes has also committed to a community contribution of £300k towards local affordable housing and education. The showhome is due to open this autumn with the first homes set to be ready for occupation this November.

Avant Homes regional chairman, Scott Varley, commented: “We know there is a strong demand for high quality, new build homes in Keighley, so we are very pleased to start work at Odette’s Point.

“Having also recently started work at our 53-home Croftside Quarter development in Cullingworth, we are committed to providing these much-needed homes within the Bradford district.”

Avant Homes West Yorkshire currently has eight live developments ranging from Wakefield to Waverley with many more due to start as the business continues to implement its growth plans.

The Avant Homes Group currently operates across the Midlands, north of England and Scotland from eight regional operating businesses.

At present, the housebuilder employs more than 600 people with ambition to grow further across its existing regions and beyond, creating communities and providing employment opportunities for many. Avant Homes Group has a medium-term strategic objective to sell more than 6,000 new homes per annum.
