Creative and cultural businesses invited to apply for part-funded skills training!

Practitioners from creative and cultural industries are being invited to take advantage of high-quality training through a range of programmes and short courses with the South Yorkshire Skills Bank.

The Skills Bank programme provides part-funded training opportunities to contribute towards the cost of upskilling yourself or your business. The bespoke and flexible nature of the programme means that any business, sole trader or freelancer who identifies a need can receive support that is tailored to their individual requirements. That’s what Barnsley Choreographer Gary Clarke did when he joined a unique bespoke programme of training.

The Skills Bank training led him to transform his business model for future growth. Read more of his story here and find out more about Gary’s latest tour, Wasteland, at wastelandtour.co.uk

The Skills Bank team can work with creative and cultural businesses, whether individuals or larger-scale employers, to analyse the skills and capabilities of the business and their employees. Skills Bank will then help identify emerging opportunities within businesses and foster a better understanding of what support is available immediately and in the future.

A range of flexbile training is available that can be tailored to suit the hands-on, dynamic approached required in the creative and cultural industries, alternatively practitioners can source your own training; just tell Skills Bank what training you require and they will do the rest.

Taking part in a Skills Bank programme can help support creative practitioners to a better financial understanding of their business, discover how they can drive their own and their businesses performance and gain a greater insight into how decisions have an impact on wider productivity across the sector.

You might need help with bid writing, business planning or sourcing income, finance & cash flow or maybe you need to improve skills to promote and share your work with new networks, customers and audiences.

If this is you then Skills Bank is here to help. To find out more about how Skills Bank, have a look at the Skills Bank Employer Portal or get in touch with the team at 03330 00 00 39 to speak with a Skills Advisor today!
