Leading Midlands property figure joins UHCW Charity board of trustees

A leading property and construction figure in the Midlands has joined the board of trustees for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) Charity. Eleanor Deeley, joint managing director of the Deeley Group, has been appointed to the board of the Charity after directly experiencing the work of the Trust it supports. UHCW Charity was founded in 1996 with the aim to improve conditions and experiences for staff, patients, and their families.

Deeley Group, which is headquartered at George House on Herald Avenue in Coventry, operates across the Midlands and was established in 1936. Eleanor joined the business in 2019 which was started by her grandfather, and has more than 20 years’ experience in the property sector.

Deeley Group is a family business with the value of community at its heart and regularly support charities and community groups across the region. The firm works in partnership with Coventry Road Club and Coventry City Council to host the annual Starley Sportive, of which the UHCW Charity is a regular beneficiary. Eleanor said: “The pandemic helped us all to realise how important the health service is in this country and why it is absolutely vital we support those on the front line in any way that we can.

“I have a personal experience of how incredible the people are at UHCW as my son was in neonatal intensive care at one of its hospitals for a number of months when he was born. “Every day the staff there go above and beyond in their duties to support their patients, from new-born babies to the elderly. “As a business we have been proud supporters of the Trust, supporting charities for many years and the Charity has regularly benefitted from the proceeds of the hugely popular Starley Sportive cycle ride, which we host.

“I’m proud to join the board of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) Charity and hope that I can use my knowledge and experience to support the Charity as it continues to develop.” Paula Deas, Chair of the UHCW Charity Trustees, added: “We are very pleased to welcome Eleanor Deeley to our board of trustees. We will be working closely with Eleanor to help us further enhance our profile with businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire, and ultimately boost our awareness and fundraising.

“The Deeley Group has been a generous supporter of the Charity for many years and it is fantastic to be strengthening our relationship with the business by welcoming Eleanor to the board of trustees.”
