Bean brews a strong relationship with Stärka for its national roll-out

Stärka, the innovative leisure real estate advisory business, has been appointed as sole agents by Bean Coffee Roasters, the award-winning independent and ethically sourced coffee operator.

Stärka will help grow Bean’s portfolio, which currently comprises 20 retail and office locations in the North-West, with a focus on 1,500 sq ft to 3,000 sq ft fitted units in prime locations in the top 20 shopping destinations across the country.

This appointment follows the Bean signing for its new concept and upsized store on Liverpool ONE’s College Lane.  Set to launch in May, the space will feature a brew bar, where customers can enjoy single-origin filter coffees and learn the art of coffee making, a brand-new brunch and lunch offer, and a vast range of coffee equipment for the avid home barista or anyone wanting to drink better coffee at home.  The Liverpool ONE store will also support Bean’s mail-order offer in addition to the in-store experience.

Sammy Jones, Co-Founder of Stärka, commented: “Bean Coffee is a thriving independent business ready for expansion beyond its home territory.  This is our type of brief, allowing us to match our understanding of the operator’s needs with those of landlords seeking to add something different to their destinations.  With coffee sales on the increase at 11.9% nationally, the timing is perfect to begin Bean’s expansion.”

Over the past 12 months, Stärka has been instrumental in a large number of significant transactions and re-gears totalling over 400,000 sq ft and secured new clients including: Everyman Cinema, Blacklock, Bundobust, Parthian Climbing and Oxygen FreeJumping.  The number of landlord mandates has grown to include Grosvenor, DTZ IM, Schroders and DS Properties.  Stärka not only covers the entire UK, but also the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
