EY announces Aspire founder Chris Fraser as Entrepreneur of the Year North Finalist
EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognises entrepreneurs who are creating innovative futures.
Chris Fraser, CEO and founder of Aspire Technology Solutions, based in Gateshead, has been named a finalist for the North region in the prestigious Ernst & Young LLP (EY) Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 awards.
The global awards programme recognises the accomplishments of entrepreneurs who demonstrate exceptional leadership, innovation, and success in building thriving businesses.
Aspire was established in 2006 as a small business with only two employees. Today, it has grown to become one of the largest IT managed service and cybersecurity providers in the UK, with over 260 employees and offices in Gateshead, London, Leeds, and Stockton-on-Tees.
In 2022, Aspire secured a significant minority investment from private equity firm LDC in a transaction that values the company at £85m, positioning it for further growth.
Selected by an independent panel of judges, Chris Fraser’s nomination is a testament to his vision, entrepreneurial spirit, and long-term approach to building value. Aspire has made significant strides in providing innovative IT solutions that help businesses grow faster, and this nomination recognises the company’s continued impact in the industry.
“It’s a tremendous honour to be recognised by Ernst & Young” said Chris. “I owe a huge debt of gratitude to the entire Aspire team and everyone who has helped us on this journey. Our success wouldn’t be possible without the hard work, dedication and support of our colleagues, customers and partners”.
The winner of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year UK will be announced at a celebration event in November. The individual will go on to represent the UK on the global stage to compete for the coveted title of EY World Entrepreneur of the Year in June 2024.
EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year is the world’s most prestigious business awards programme, celebrating entrepreneurship through regional and national awards programmes in over 60 countries.
Aspire’s nomination is a testament to its commitment to innovation, growth, and impact in the UK’s IT industry, and Chris’ dedication to building a business that delivers technology like no other.
