Independent store enjoys permanent position at Sanderson Arcade
The family team behind Enjoy Beer & More have taken up permanent residency at the Arcade following a successful three years as a pop-up shop in the former Laura Ashley unit.
The same extensive range of real ales, craft beers, fine wines and signature spirits can now be found in a shop opposite Vodafone in the centre’s gallery. The husband, wife and son team ventured into retail opening their first shop at Sanderson Arcade during the pandemic, when their events drinks catering business was put on pause by the nationwide restrictions.
Co-owner at Enjoy Beer & More, Nick Gilchrist, said: “We’re really grateful to all of our lovely customers for welcoming our family business to the Arcade and supporting our expansion into retail. Although we are back to providing bars at major events again, we have been thrilled with the success of our pop-up shop.”
The family, who grew up in Morpeth and now live in Alnwick, ensures that there is a concentration on local products. Enjoy Beer & More are proud to boast real ales and craft beers from over 30 local breweries originating from Northumberland, Scotland and North Yorkshire, along with local gins, rums, meads and so much more.
Nick continued: “Our ethos is to support local, and we are proud to showcase many local breweries such as Durham Brewery, Alnwick Brewery and even supplying our very own Feral North beer range. We are constantly on the lookout for new local breweries and distilleries as we want to keep our offer fresh and exciting for our customers.”
The off licence is open seven days per week and employs a team of seven knowledgeable staff all passionate about the drinks that they sell.
Centre manager for Sanderson Arcade, Lottie Thompson, said: “We’re thrilled that Enjoy Beer & More have officially joined the Arcade and wish them every success in their new location.”
