Keepmoat celebrates the completion of flagship development in Hull

Keepmoat, a top 10 UK homebuilder, is celebrating the completion of the City’s Reach development on the edge of the City of Hull as the final new home owners move into the thriving community.

During the four year construction process, City’s Reach has created 184 jobs locally, 11 apprenticeships and more than 60 per cent of suppliers have been sourced from the local region.

In total, more than 130 homes have been delivered and are now occupied, with 9 per cent being built as affordable housing stock to support the local authority and housing association to provide rented accommodation, social housing and shared ownership options.

Daniel Crew, Yorkshire East MD at Keepmoat, said: “We’re thrilled to announce that all the homes have been sold at City’s Reach. The community that has been created is thriving and is a brilliant location, with good links to the City of Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire’s stunning countryside.

“At Keepmoat, we don’t just build homes, but regenerate areas sustainably and drive investment into areas that need it the most. These homes were specifically designed for first time buyers, growing families and downsizers, to best support more people onto the housing ladder.”

Comprising a range of two, three and four bedroom houses, all 130 homes at the City’s Reach development include the latest energy-saving technology from energy-efficient boilers to high performance windows and the highest standards of insulation.

The ‘Citywide Consortium’ is an innovative housing development collaboration and consists of housing developers Keepmoat and Strata Homes working in partnership with Hull City Council to deliver one of Hull’s largest, most widespread housing regeneration programmes.

The programme is due to bring over £500m of private investment to the area over a 13 year period, and will provide 4,000 much needed mixed tenure homes, alongside employment opportunities for the local community.

Ian Anderson, director of legal services and partnerships at Hull City Council added: “New and stable communities are crucial to Hull’s redevelopment. Through housing-led regeneration we aim to meet our housing growth targets at the same time as providing quality new homes and creating neighbourhoods where people want to live.

“Furthermore, the new-build programme offers valuable training and employment opportunities for the local workforce. The city-wide consortium involving Keepmoat and Strata enables us to progress our objectives, and the City’s Reach completion makes a significant contribution.”
