PKF returns to Manchester as part of ambitious growth plans

PKF, one of the UK and Ireland’s largest accountancy brands, is returning to Manchester for the first time in a decade with the opening of offices at 11 York Street in the city centre.

One of the fastest growing challenger brands in the accountancy sector, PKF is well-known for working with the financial services sector and the listed companies market, as well as with other large, complex, high-profile private businesses.

The firm is the UK’s second largest auditor of AIM listed businesses and ranked sixth for all listed companies in the UK. It also works with over 100 insurance companies, mutuals and brokers, and is the largest auditor of insurance intermediaries in the UK. In addition, the firm provides a range of tax services to larger clients, including in complex areas such as VAT and transfer pricing.

PKF has seen rapid expansion over the past few years in its London and Leeds offices. It already acts as auditor for AIM-listed online retail giant Boohoo and Essar Oil, which operates the Stanlow refinery, The University of Manchester, and a number of significant financial services businesses including AIM-listed CPP Group and investment manager, Redmayne Bentley – from its office in Leeds.

Dominic Roberts, managing partner, said: “We’re proud to be bringing the PKF name back to Manchester for the first time in 10 years. We’ve grown significantly in London and Leeds in the past few years, and now feel the time is right to re-open in Manchester. Clients are crying out for more choice and our expansion into the North West will offer a credible alternative to companies beyond the ‘Big Four’.”

“We’re recognised as a major force in the financial services and listed companies markets, and can see the opportunity to support the region’s thriving business scene. Many of our clients are already based in the North West so having a presence on the ground will help us to enhance the service we offer, as well as provide a platform for further growth.

“Manchester and the North West as a whole have a buzz about them – our own personal experiences and the conversations that we’ve had with existing clients, make it clear that it’s an attractive destination for our next major investment.

“We’ve lined up a number of senior appointments that we plan to announce over the coming months. We’re also on the look out for ambitious accountancy professionals who are looking to join a dynamic and growing practice. The region is booming, and it’s a great time to join a growing firm with ambitious plans.

“We’ve developed a reputation for creating a culture where people are looked after and supported in fulfilling their potential. This formula has underpinned our success elsewhere, and we hope that it will also help us to make an impact in the North West.”
