Black Sheep Coffee leads latest run of lettings at Manchester Arndale

Manchester Arndale is pleased to announce a series of new leasing activity which includes the arrival of Black Sheep Coffee at the shopping centre and the retention of popular store The Works.

Black Sheep Coffee has selected the centre for its latest location in Manchester, after agreeing to take a 4,187 sq ft unit on Market Street on a 20 -year lease. Meanwhile, The Works has agreed a new five-year lease for its 3,356 sq ft store.

Catering to coffee lovers across the board, Black Sheep Coffee will offer their speciality-grade 100 per cent Robusta coffee and a selection of four different Arabica beans: Love Berries, Blue Volcano, Rebel Decaf and Seasonal Limited-Editions.

With a commitment to sustainability, and as part of an aim to reduce the company’s environmental impact wherever possible, 100 per cent compostable takeaway cups and PLA plastic alternatives are used across all their locations. With a passion for coffee the brand has also preserved independence by harnessing support and funding from their loyal customers and those who believe in the values of the company.

With more than 500 stores across the UK and Ireland, The Works provides arts and crafts supplies, books, and stationery as well as toys and games for all the family. The store is popular with Manchester shoppers and follows recent leasing activity to well-known names such as Manchester City, Moss, Nike, Sports Direct, Superdrug, Hollister, and Gilly Hicks.

Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, said: “Manchester is a city known for its café culture, and we’re delighted that Black Sheep Coffee has chosen Manchester Arndale for its latest location.

“Already a firm favourite among locals and visitors alike, we’re looking forward to welcoming the independent operator which will provide a great stop off point for those exploring all the centre has to offer.

“We are also pleased that The Works has committed its future to Manchester Arndale. The store is a key driver of footfall for the centre and this new agreement is a clear sign that retailers have confidence in the long-term future of Manchester Arndale and its position as one of leading retail destinations in the North West.”

Eirik Holth and Gabriel Shohet co-founders of Black Sheep Coffee added: “Manchester was our first city outside London and is a special place in the Black Sheep journey. We’re absolutely thrilled to open our fifth store in this incredible city.”

Manchester Arndale is one of the UK’s largest city centre shopping malls, welcoming over 42 million visitors in an average year. It boasts an impressive line-up of more than 200 shops and restaurants, including international, national, and local brands.
