Bowcliffe Hall raises more than £70,000 for two Yorkshire-based charities with fundraising events at Estate

Bowcliffe Hall, the show-stopping events venue based in Bramham, Wetherby, has raised more than £70,000 for two Yorkshire-based charities through fundraising events at the estate.

£64,000 was raised for Hope for Tomorrow, the dedicated charity which brings cancer care closer to patients via mobile cancer care units, on the evening of Thursday 11th May, during an exclusive black-tie event celebrating the centenary of Le Mans.

100 percent of the ticket price and auction proceeds have been donated directly to Hope for Tomorrow and the total amount raised will fund a mobile cancer care unit in Yorkshire unit for over 300 days treating up to 40 patients per day.

Bowcliffe Hall raised a further £6,415 this month for Dementia Forward, a charity that supports those affected by dementia across North Yorkshire, at its U&ME Family Fun Day on Sunday 14th May, to raise awareness of young onset dementia.

The U&ME Campaign is a 10-year plan, aimed at ensuring specialist care is available with people living with young onset dementia, and the essential funds were raised during a day of live music at Bowcliffe Hall, in celebration of the power of music for young people living with early onset dementia.

Headlined by Leeds’ Apollo Junction, with Frankly Jazz, Scott Quinn and friends and compared by BBC Look North presenter, Lotty Leeming, the event saw over 250 guests join the festival, and everyone had the opportunity to meet Dementia Forward CEO, Jill Quinn MBE and Jonathan Beardsworth, the inspiration behind the U&ME campaign.

140 guests also attended the Le Mans evening alongside racing royalty including Martin Brundle, David Brabham, David Richards, Guy Smith, Richard Attwood, Harry Tincknell and Darren Turner. 

Guests showcased their classic, vintage and supercars on Bowcliffe Hall’s East Park and enjoyed a VIP drinks reception and three-course meal, prepared by Bowcliffe Hall’s Head Chef and MasterChef star, Darren Collinson.

Jonathan Turner, owner of Bowcliffe Hall Estate, said “Here at Bowcliffe Hall, supporting charitable initiatives is extremely important to us. We regularly host fundraising events and we are proud to donate 100 percent of the proceeds directly to the charity.”

Tina Seymour, Chief Executive at Hope for Tomorrow, who attended the event, said “We’re incredibly grateful to Jonathan and his amazing team, and everyone who came along to support us for raising such a fantastic amount of money!”

“We are a small charity and we do not receive any government funding, so the donations we receive are vital to keep the wheels turning on our mobile cancer care units and helping NHS cancer patients. Airedale NHS Foundation Trust provides local cancer care to patients in West Yorkshire using two of our units and we hope to extend this in the future; we currently have 12 other units that provide services in other areas of England. The sum raised at this event will fund a Yorkshire unit for over 300 days, which is great news for cancer patients in the area.”
