New Manager For Madeira Lodge Care Home
New Romney’s Madeira Lodge Care Home is pleased to introduce new Care Home Manager, Karen Way. A registered nurse with a career spanning 44 years, Karen brings to Madeira Lodge a wealth of experience, a deep passion for the elderly, and especially those living with Dementia.
Karen’s journey in the healthcare industry has been as inspiring as it has been diverse. She served as a district nurse in Kent for 14 years, tirelessly providing care to patients in their homes. Her experience as a Home Visiting Nurse further reinforced her commitment to patient care, as she visited housebound patients who were unwell, acting as a crucial link between them and their GP.
Her transition into nursing home management over 20 years ago brought a new dimension to her career. Armed with an NVQ 5 in Operational Management and a Diploma in Management, her management style is driven by her commitment to ensuring the highest standards of care for residents.
At the heart of Karen’s work is a deep-seated passion for caring for the elderly. Her dedication to those living with Dementia is particularly commendable. As a Dementia friend, she has been instrumental in raising awareness about the condition through her involvement in the Dementia Forum in Hythe. Her advocacy work has had a profound impact on the lives of those affected by this condition and their families.
Adam Hutchison, Managing Director at Belmont Healthcare says: “We are excited to welcome Karen to the Madeira Lodge Care Home family. Her vast experience, empathetic approach to care, and unwavering commitment to patients will undoubtedly enrich Madeira Lodge and enhance the lives of everyone who calls it home. With Karen at the helm, we look forward to continually providing exceptional care to our residents.”
