Manufacturers in Hull and East Yorkshire can access funding to improve their digital skills with Made Smarter

Hull and East Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (HEY LEP) are inviting you to two events in June to find out more about the Made Smarter programme in our region.

Made Smarter is designed to improve digital adoption amongst SMEs and includes intensive one-to-one advice and support delivered through the Growth Hub network and specialist Made Smarter advisors.

Funding for the project was announced by the Government in February 2023, and manufacturers in the HEY region are now able to take full advantage of these services.

More about Made Smarter

The Made Smarter team are working in partnership with East Riding Business Support & Hull City Council Business Support team to offer a range of support and grant funding opportunities to business owners in the manufacturing sectors (only)

The events seek bring together a range of support and advisory services in one event focus aimed solely at the manufacturing sector; where business owners can meet and explore issues with specialist which could have positive impacts on their businesses. The events will provide business representatives with the opportunities to how digital adoption in manufacturing business which could contribute to cost saving for the business, increase productivity and ensure economic growth through the implementation of digital technology.

Made Smarter Programme in the Hull & East Riding will be delivered by a team of:

  • Les Selby Digital Transformation Specialist with 20+ years working within the digital / ICT sector and
  • Neil Harriman Digital Manufacturing Advisor with 25+yrs working for the manufacturing sector.

Making a real, everyday difference to people from the boardroom to the factory floor. Made Smarter was formed following a nationwide review into UK manufacturing that recommended three key changes: More ambitious leadership. More innovation in developing modern technologies. And faster implementation and adoption of those technologies. We will be boosting the digital skills of industry leaders, bringing businesses and research development together to develop innovative technology, and helping makers embrace new digital tools.

An additional briefing event has been organised for ICT Providers who work with the manufacturing sector to provide them with the necessary information to assist and sign post the manufacturing clients to the respectful projects – especially to the Made Smarter programme.

The event for the HEY LEP Programme will be held on Thursday 15th June at the Deep Business Centre, Tower Street, Hull starting at 8.30am
