Yorkshire tapas restaurant chain expands with new venue and co-owner

Oliver Kenny, owner of Oliver’s bar in Guiseley, has announced an “exciting” partnership with Yorkshire owned tapas restaurant chain La Casita.

The founder and owner of Oliver’s has joined La Casita as a co-owner and with it comes the news that a selection of the restaurant’s Spanish Tapas dishes will soon be available at the popular town centre bar Oliver’s.

Oliver commented: “I can’t wait to get cracking with the established team at La Casita. It’s a restaurant I’ve enjoyed visiting over the years and I’ve always admired their formula.

Offering food was the obvious next step for Oliver’s as the owner is targeting growth. He is confident that Tapas style food will fit in seamlessly at Oliver’s, adding: “This opportunity with La Casita was presented to me and it all fell into place.”

“There’s a gap in the market for this style of dining in Guiseley. I’m hoping we’ll be a meeting spot for a drink and tasty bite to eat after getting off the train or we’ll be the choice of groups who want a night out with great food in their local town.”

“We’ve invested to expand the kitchen and from Friday June 9 we’ll be offering a condensed version of La Casita’s menu. If people like what we’re doing at Oliver’s the hope is that they’ll head further afield to try one of the other La Casita restaurants and explore the full tapas menu.”

La Casita came onto the Yorkshire restaurant scene in 2014, when local chefs Simon Miller and Oliver Renton, opened their first restaurant in Ilkley. They went on to open restaurants in Boston Spa and Skipton thanks to the popular tapas style dining.

The restaurant navigated the pandemic by doing online cooking videos, offering “cook-at-home” hampers and it created a charity cookbook, raising over £3,000 for charitable food re-distributor FareShare.

Using a mix of locally sourced food and traditional imported ingredients, La Casita creates colourful plates that are complemented by a “relaxed dining style and charming interior” This dining recipe has taken La Casita from strength to strength.

Oliver Kenny takes over from co-founder Oliver Renton. La Casita at Oliver’s will offer 60 per cent of the menu from La Casita and will host Bottomless Brunch every weekend as well as an early bird dining offer to entice customers through the doors.
