Gloucestershire housebuilder invests £7m into local community

A South West housebuilder has injected a sizeable investment into the Stonehouse community.

Redrow South West’s The Alders at Great Oldbury, on De Liesle Bush Way, which will provide 131 new homes, has confirmed that it is contributing over £7m into the region. The investment includes a number of contributions, with £250,000 to improve transport links in the area including enhancing public transport services.

As part of the housebuilders’ commitment to creating thriving communities, a contribution of over £6m will see a new primary school built in the area. Redrow South West also invested £264,000 to support local library services, £30,000 to support the Community Hall and an additional £222,000 for the maintenance and care of the local canal system.

Sian Smith, sales director for Redrow South West, said: “We are delighted to be providing much-needed new homes in Stonehouse, while contributing to the growth of the local community as part of The Alders at Great Oldbury development.

“Our dedication to creating vibrant communities is essential when building new homes and this commitment will benefit both new residents to The Alders and those in the surrounding neighbourhoods.

“It’s an exciting time for us and for individuals in the community, and we are delighted to be further enhancing this beautiful region with investments supporting local education and transport.”

The Alders at Great Oldbury offers a choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes from £592,995 and is located on the edge of the Cotswolds, close to the sought-after town of Stroud. The new development, part of the master scheme at Great Oldbury, will feature high-quality homes from the housebuilder’s award-winning Heritage Collection.
