£28m South Yorkshire residential development to deliver over 100 homes
Avant Homes West Yorkshire has started construction on a nine-acre site near Barnsley to deliver 113 new-build homes with a gross development value (GDV) of around £28m.
Located on Hay Green Lane between Tankersley and Birdwell, the development will comprise a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes and feature 12 of Avant Homes’ house types.
Called Hay Green Park, the development received planning permission in March this year. The overall build programme is estimated to take approximately two and a half years. The showhome is due to open this October with the first homes set to be ready for occupation in November.
Of the 113 homes being built, 10 per cent have been designated to affordable housing. Avant Homes has also committed to a community contribution of around £970k to support local primary and secondary education, a sustainable travel plan and open green space.
Avant Homes West Yorkshire managing director, Richard Hosie, commented: “We’ve had great success delivering our recently sold-out St Paul’s Bank development in nearby Pilley, so we’re pleased to be extending our presence in the area with 113 new homes at Hay Green Park.
“We know that our exciting range of new homes are popular with new homebuyers in the locality, so we are looking forward to progressing this development.”
Avant Homes West Yorkshire currently has eight live developments ranging from Wakefield to Waverley with many more due to start as the business continues to implement its growth plans.
The Wakefield based business is part of the Avant Homes Group which currently operates across the Midlands, north of England and Scotland from eight regional operating businesses.
At present, the housebuilder employs more than 600 people with ambition to grow further across its existing regions and beyond, creating communities and providing employment opportunities for many. Avant Homes Group has a medium-term strategic objective to sell more than 6,000 homes per annum.
