Little Moons to double international business by 2024 as it secures distribution in 28 countries
Little Moons – the pioneers of mochi ice cream and TikTok phenomenon – are experiencing a continued wave of mochi madness as demand surges for the UK’s leading mochi ice cream across a growing list of international markets.
With 28 distribution points secured globally to date including15 new retail partners and six new markets in 2023, the booming international business complements the continued growth in Little Moons’ home market, the UK, where the brand generated £25.9m in retail sales in grocery multiples over the last 12 monthsi. At the start of 2023, it successfully launched its HFSS-compliant sorbet range ‘Refreshos,’ which are the No. 1 and 2 top performing new ice cream lines in Asda year to dateii.
Across Europe, the brand’s cult status has seen distribution in France double in the last twelve months across all major grocery retailers; key retail partnerships secured in DACH and new listings including Coop Denmark, Conad and Coop Italy, Meny Norway, El Corte Inglés Spain and Konzum Croatia.
Further afield, Little Moons is launching with distributors across the Middle East. Its exclusive launch into Woolworths in Australia in Autumn 2022 has been a fruitful one, generating AU$10m in retail sales and a social media extravaganza. Woolworths will be expanding the range available to consumers from October 2023, including some of the brand’s most popular flavours like Salted Caramel and Iced Latte. Little Moons will be coming to neighbouring country New Zealand in Autumn 2023.
This month, Little Moons won The Department of Business and Trade inaugural Made in the UK, Sold to the World award, which celebrates the exporting success of small businesses across the UK as it strives to become the leading global mochi brand.
