The Clancy Group wins CECA Southern Workplace Wellbeing Initiative Award

The Clancy Group has been named winner of this year’s Workplace Wellbeing Initiative Award at the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) Southern Annual Lunch & Awards ceremony, held at The Brewery in London.

The award recognised Clancy’s ‘Walk the Clancy Way’ project, which the company supported throughout July 2022 as part of the Health & Wellbeing Clancy Cares calendar.

“This was a virtual step challenge promoting how the benefits of being outdoors and exercise can have on your overall health and wellbeing,” said Rebecca Glendinning, Head of Health & Safety (North) at Clancy.

“The idea was to see how many times we could walk (virtually) to County Clare in Ireland – the birthplace of our company founder and grandfather of our current CEO. We teamed up with our Employee Assistance Provider (Health Assured) using their My Healthy Advantage app, which incorporated a step counter.

“Employees took part in the challenge and by using the app, could see each other’s steps which created a sense of healthy competition, teamwork and support, all while raising money for the charity Mind.”

Clancy’s Head Office is in Harefield, Middlesex and has a workforce of over 2,200 employees.

Samantha Barratt, CECA Southern Chair, commented: “Walk the Clancy Way was a highly successful project leading on a number of different channels to create more engagement with their Health and Wellbeing programmes. This in turn has helped to promote comradery and buy-in across the workforce, while raising money for charitable organisations.”
