Topping out milestone reached at £150m Hampstead development

The Oren, the £150m (GDV) purpose-built retirement community on West Heath Road in London’s Hampstead, conceived, developed and operated by Elysian Residences constructed by Kingscote Construction Ltd, has reached a landmark milestone, with the ‘topping out’ of the building.

The event was attended by consultants, subcontractors and investors alongside the Elysian Residences, Kingscote Construction Ltd, AJ Morrisroe and Sons Ltd and Stanton Williams Architects teams.

Speeches on the day were made by Elysian Residences CEO Gavin Stein, Kingscote Construction Ltd managing director Andy Beckett, owner and principal director of Stanton Williams Architects Alan Stanton and CEO of AJ Morrisroe and Sons Ltd Brian Morrisroe.

This significant stage in the construction of the development was marked by the presentation of an engraved silver trowel by the construction team and the cementing of the final brick into the roof.

In August 2023 Elysian Residences will launch a Show Suite for The Oren which will be located in Belsize Park, where prospective homeowners will be invited to view a scale model of the development, floor plans for individual apartments, browse the specification and learn more about the exclusive services and amenities available.

Referencing the modernist architectural tradition found in many parts of North London, the four apartment buildings are designed at thoughtful angles, which provides innovative hexagonal-like floorplates to each level, the clever layout giving every apartment in The Oren the benefit of its own unique orientation and outlook, allowing residents privacy and views unique to each residence.

The topping out is a significant milestone in the construction programme which is well underway on site to deliver The Oren, with build completion expected in summer 2024. The Sales Suite located on Belsize Lane will be open from August 2023.
