'Leading' green hydrogen platform completes first fundraising round with HYCAP
Yamna, a leading green hydrogen platform specialised in the development of green hydrogen projects across EMEA, is raising funds through investment firm HYCAP.
Yamna specialises in the development of green hydrogen and associated derivative projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The company is committed to developing and operating a portfolio of green hydrogen production assets, with the aim of driving decarbonisation efforts, promoting renewable energy integration, and fostering a cleaner and more sustainable energy landscape.
The venture is a continuation of HYCAP’s investments in the hydrogen market and the first in the emerging markets field. Recognising the tremendous potential of green hydrogen as a key driver in the transition towards a sustainable energy future, HYCAP is committed to supporting innovative companies and projects in this sector.
This fundraising represents a significant milestone for Yamna. Through this partnership, HYCAP and Yamna aim to leverage their capabilities to accelerate the deployment of green hydrogen infrastructure, facilitate technological advancements, and unlock the vast potential of this transformative industry.
Abdelaziz Yatribi, Yamna’s co-founder & CEO, said: “We are delighted to have HYCAP as an investor in Yamna. Their commitment to sustainable investments and their extensive network in the hydrogen sector will undoubtedly bolster our efforts to accelerate the development and adoption of green hydrogen projects. Together, we can drive positive change and shape a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.”
Gal Bogin, Yamna’s co-founder & CDO, added: “HYCAP’s strategic investment in Yamna will enable us to accelerate the progress we have made with our projects in the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Yamna has already built an attractive project pipeline with focus on green ammonia and green hydrogen for industrial usages and going forward we will accelerate it and evolve it further.”
James Munce, CEO at HYCAP, said: “HYCAP has a vital role in helping accelerate green hydrogen production and supply, creating jobs and contributing to Net Zero targets. We are delighted to be working with Yamna and assisting with the company’s growth of green hydrogen projects around the world.”
