Daniel-Scott Recruitment raises £610 for Acorns Children’s Hospice

Halesowen-based recruitment agency Daniel-Scott Recruitment has raised £610 for Acorns Children’s Hospice midway through its year of fundraising for the good cause.

Acorns Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across three specialist centres in the West Midlands. It also provides support for their families.

The recruitment agency, which consists of a team of three, has chosen to support the hospice as its charity of the year for 2023 through fundraising, charitable donations and volunteering.

Daniel-Scott Recruitment director Lucy Cashmore commented: “We have selected Acorns Children’s Hospice as our charity of the year as they offer vital services and make a tremendous difference to the lives of countless children and families locally.

“I have seen firsthand all the work they do and how much more support they need, especially as Covid-19 reduced fundraising, so I am determined to have us play our part in helping such a deserving cause.”

Throughout May, the agency donated five per cent of income generated through recruitment fees to the good cause, and in June it held a raffle for an Xbox games console that was donated by recruitment consultant Daniel Cashmore.

As well as fundraising, the agency presented more than 100 Easter eggs donated by colleagues and clients to the hospice in April.

The Daniel-Scott team also volunteered their time to marshal the Acorns Bubble Rush event at Walsall Arboretum on 23 July.

Acorns Children’s Hospice area fundraising manager Claire Snape commented: “Thanks to the generosity of companies like Daniel-Scott Recruitment, we can continue to ensure we can be there for families when they need us most.

“Their ongoing support makes it possible for us to be there for families during their most difficult moments, including providing dedicated emergency and end-of-life care.”

Lucy added: “We are immensely proud to have been able to offer Acorns so much support in just a few months. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated goods or money to the cause.

“We already have plenty of ideas for charity initiatives for the rest of the year. We would love to undertake a thrill-seeking sponsored challenge and organise a Christmas present collection in December.

“We are committed to helping Acorns throughout 2023 and hope our generous supporters will continue to back our fundraising efforts.”

Launched in 2020, Daniel-Scott Recruitment builds strong partnerships with employers to find the right candidates to move their businesses forward while supporting candidates to forge a new career to suit their skills and experience.

The agency’s recruiters are specialists within the contact centre, sales, marketing, admin and engineering sectors, offering a bespoke, consultative approach with expert advice to present the best candidates to great employers.
