Wembley development reaches new heights with topping out ceremony

The Guinness Partnership, one of England’s largest housing associations, held an event to celebrate topping out at their Beresford Avenue development in Wembley, North West London - a development which will provide 100 new homes once complete.

Kevin Williams, group director of development & commercial services at The Guinness Partnership, was joined by Cllr Mili Patel, deputy leader of the London Borough of Brent & Cllr Bhagwanji Chohan, ward councillor, as well as Gary McCarthy, construction director from Howarth Contractors, who are building out the development.

The development consists of two blocks of one, two and three bedroom apartments - 49 of which will be for affordable rent with the other 51 for shared ownership. There will also be 12,000 sq ft of commercial space on the ground floor.

The homes are a short walk to Alperton Station and Stonebridge Park Station with numerous amenities in the local area including Wembley Stadium, the London Designer Outlet and Brent Cross Shopping Centre.

The homes are being delivered with the support of funding from the Mayor of London, under a GLA Strategic Partnership agreement.

Kevin Williams, group director of development & commercial services at The Guinness Partnership said: “The topping out of Beresford Avenue is a significant milestone in bringing more new homes to Wembley. We are pleased to be delivering more affordable and shared ownership homes on the site than was originally envisaged, and these homes will provide much needed, high-quality affordable housing for the area.”

Cllr Mili Patel, deputy leader of the London Borough of Brent said: “I am delighted that we will soon have 100 more new homes available in Brent, and it is great news for our residents who want to get on the property ladder.

“This supports Brent Council’s vision of revitalising the borough, and ensuring new developments such as these benefit the local community. We look forward to continuing to work with The Guinness Partnership to bring this project to completion next year.”

Ben Searle from Howarth Contractors said: “We are proud to have reached this milestone in the construction process at the Beresford Avenue development, and when finished this project will provide much needed high quality, affordable homes in the borough.

“In delivering this project with Guinness it demonstrates our ongoing commitment to working in effective partnership with affordable housing providers, to make a significant difference to the local communities we are working in.”
