Yorkshire clinical homecare provider launches new app to improve patient experience.

Pontefract-based clinical homecare provider HealthNet Homecare has launched MyHealthNet, a new DTAC-approved (Digital Technology Assessment Criteria ) patient app which, using their unique HealthNet CT number, will enable patients to log in securely and start booking and confirming their medication deliveries straight away.

Over 15,500 residents in Yorkshire and the Humber who receive clinical homecare from HealthNet Homecare will now be able to benefit from the service. The app can be downloaded through Google Play and Apple App stores onto any smart phone.

More than three quarters of the 100,000 UK patients with which HealthNet Homecare works across numerous different therapy areas already interact digitally with the provider, making the introduction of the new app the next logical step. For some time, the company has operated an E-Sign Hub, a secure platform approved by the National Clinical Homecare Association (NCHA), which enables clinicians and pharmacists to get prescriptions quickly, safely and efficiently signed-off and ready for delivery. The app is also the logical development of the company’s Patient Portal, which has been in use for some time to enable patients to schedule upcoming deliveries of medication.

Using the app, patients will be able to book and confirm deliveries electronically; change or update delivery addresses; check medication orders and if their order has been dispatched; automatically add delivery dates to their calendar, as well as setting in-app reminders to ensure they never miss a delivery.    Additional benefits include improved medication adherence; a better experience for patients, and a reduction in the number of delivery enquiries being directed to healthcare professionals.   “HealthNet Homecare is a digitally driven organisation, with a focus on making patients’ lives easier,” says CEO, Kerry Hinton. “Our new app combined with the online Patient Portal and Clinician Gateway aims to improve patient and healthcare professionals’ overall medication management experience.”
