Esh Construction unveils plans for 65 new affordable homes in Hull
Plans for 65 new affordable homes just three miles from Hull City Centre have been developed by Esh Construction and Together Housing Group, with an application now submitted to Hull City Council.
Part of an £11m land led development, the proposed plans include two-, three- and four-bedroom homes for affordable rent. The scheme is located on land opposite the Freedom Centre, between Ryehill Grove and Wyton Grove, which is allocated for residential development in the Holderness Road Corridor Area Action Plan.
Esh Construction business development manager, Zoe Cowell, said: “We pride ourselves on maintaining successful working relationships with our clients and we are delighted to be working with Together Housing on a second land led development. An extensive amount of work has gone into developing this scheme to date and I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in getting to this point.”
Designed by Acanthus WSM Architects, the site will include 31 two-bedroom, 28 three-bedroom and 6 four-bedroom homes which will benefit from private rear gardens and parking facilities.
Accessibility and adaptability standards will be adopted for 16 homes, with features such as a step-free access, increased circulation space and potential for future adaptations including level access showers at ground floor in the three-bedroom homes. Registered housing provider, Together Housing Group, will take ownership of the properties upon completion.
Together Housing Group programme manager, Chris Watson, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to offer new and current customers, housing right at the heart of Hull. Our vision is to create a vibrant community of affordable homes that will meet the local needs including the young and growing families.”.
“Over 20 per cent of the properties will be built with enhanced accessible features including ramp access and ground floor shower rooms. By working in conjunction with Esh Construction, we’re proud to invest in the project and help meet the growing demand for housing in the Yorkshire and Humber area.”
Cowell added: “Esh Construction has circa £80m land led developments on site or due to commence, and this represents a strong part of our affordable housing division’s future workload. It is widely documented that there is huge demand for new affordable homes across the Yorkshire and Humber region and through our land led solution, we can support registered providers to achieve their targets.”
