“Leading” construction group announces relocation to sustainable North West offices

Birchwood Park, the North West’s largest out-of-town business destination, has announced that Galliford Try has taken office space at 401 Faraday St office building. BE Group and JLL were the agents acting for Birchwood Park.

Galliford Try is “one of the UK’s leading” construction groups, delivering buildings and infrastructure across the country. The new office space accommodates teams from the Group’s Environment, Telecoms, Infrastructure and Asset Intelligence businesses, complementing its nearby Building operations in Manchester.

The new office space at 401 Faraday Street comprises 16,209 sq ft in total providing flexible, open plan floor space. This, combined with its location at the heart of Birchwood Park’s vibrant business community, makes it one of the best working environments in the region.

The flexibility of the large office space, combined with the Park’s aligned commitment to net zero and ESG goals, were driving factors behind Galliford Try’s move to the Park.

Mark Baxendale, head of group property at Galliford Try, commented: “We’re delighted to have relocated to 401 at Birchwood Park.

“Moving to these new sustainable offices is another example of our commitment to achieving Net Zero carbon across our operations by 2030. The new offices feature 100 per cent renewable energy with electric vehicle charging points, supporting our Journey to Net Zero. On site bee hives add to biodiversity, and shuttle buses promote sustainable travel.

“The park also commits to sending zero waste direct to landfill, with over 75 per cent of waste recycled each year, and features some of the most accessible parking options within the surrounding area.”

The new offices also promote Galliford Try’s ethos of work-life balance, with Birchwood Park’s wide range of perks and amenities, such as on-site gym facilities, restaurants, café, nursery and event space.

Martin O’Rourke, commercial director at Birchwood Park, added: “We’re thrilled to see another leader in the construction sector expand their services to Birchwood Park. We understand how to cultivate an office environment that enables employees to reach their full potential, whilst making their working day that much more enjoyable.

“We feel 401 Faraday Street achieves exactly that, combining flexible office space with a number of fantastic facilities that we know will boost the wellbeing of Galliford Try’s North West team and enable them to thrive.”
