North Yorkshire based communications consultancy SME marks ‘major milestone’
Hey Me, a Harrogate based communications consultancy SME, is celebrating a ‘major milestone’ this month with its sixth birthday, working with National Forest to plant trees and give back sustainably to mark the occasion.
Each Hey Me team member has chosen a type of tree that resonates with them, for example, alder which is associated with determination and confidence.
Over the last few years, there have been challenges, from budget cuts faced by many companies to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Hey Me continues to “adapt and thrive”. The team continues to grow, from a single freelancer back in 2017 to a close-knit team of six this year.
Amy Jeffs, founder and managing director, commented: “I feel incredibly proud to have reached this exciting milestone. Something that started as a freelancing project has grown more than I ever could have imagined.
“The growth we have experienced as a company is a testament to the holistic and agile approach of our team. You really cannot underestimate the power of good communication!”
Amy set up Hey Me in response to the challenges of traditional office work, especially for those with chronic illnesses and caring responsibilities. Hey Me’s “unique” business approach aims to support better work-life balance, allowing the team to work with an “agile, flexible approach”.
This gives opportunities for those who may not be supported in a more traditional environment, like working parents.
Amy added: “Flexibility has been at our core from our inception, the pandemic enabled our ethos to become more widely accepted and it’s great to see other organisations following suit.
“After recent media speculation covering both the benefits and challenges of working more flexibly, it’s encouraging to see this approach being acknowledged by the new Flexible Working Bill.”
