Pharmacy chain launches new flu jab voucher service for businesses
The UK’s leading independent pharmacy chain, Well Pharmacy, has launched a brand-new digital e-voucher platform for its corporate flu jabs scheme - allowing businesses to easily share flu vouchers with its colleagues using email and unique flu voucher codes.
Flu is usually the biggest cause of sick days in the UK, accounting for an average of 5.7 days off from work each year. As well as costing the UK economy an estimated £29 billion every year, the flu costs businesses an average of £522 per employee annually, highlighting the importance of offering and making the flu jab accessible to employees.
In the UK, flu season usually lasts from December to March but can begin as early as October if the weather is cold and dry. It is therefore important for people to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
Flu is highly contagious, especially in the winter months, spreading easily from person to person, including in the workplace. Most people recover fairly quickly from flu without lasting complications, but it can occasionally hit even healthy people hard and stop them working for around a week.
Well Pharmacy’s digital e-voucher platform service not only offers easy accessibility, but many more benefits including quick and easy sharing through quick email access, up-front pricing and invoicing, and easy viewing of voucher usage.
Businesses will also be able to see how many vouchers have been used and how many are still available.
George Sandhu, Deputy Superintendent Pharmacist at Well Pharmacy, said: “We know that flu can play havoc with how a business runs at what can be its busiest time – the pre-Christmas rush.
“Signing up to provide flu jabs for your staff is a relatively inexpensive way to protect your business, your staff and their loved ones, and we want to make getting them in place as easy as possible, the scheme easy to administer to save you time and for it to be easy for your colleagues to be able to get their flu jab when it suits them best.
“All you need to do is decide how many vouchers you want and complete the order form. We’ll send you a pre-populated agreement for you to sign and return, and we’ll send you an invoice.
“Once you’re set up, you’ll get a voucher code to share with your staff and posters to promote the service – and they’ll have access to a platform to get the code they’ll need to book their jabs on our website.
“They’ll be able to book at one of our 750 pharmacies using our online booking system or can look for a Well pharmacy offering a walk-in flu service. Jabs are quick and relatively painless and can really protect your business this flu season.”
