Business Development Manager Josh gets tough to fundraise for YMCA Together

A business development manager from Liverpool raised more than £1,000 for one of the city’s leading charities by embarking on Tough Mudder.

Josh Russell, who works at Base Communications N/W, decided to take on the challenge having supported YMCA Together’s utilities and telecommunications across all its services for the past four years.

Tough Mudder is the ultimate challenge with more than 30 obstacles, with plenty of mud added along the route. The fast paced, team orientated challenge features obstacles such as ‘Electroshock therapy’ and ‘Everest’, with each one engineered to test teamwork, mental grit and physical boundaries.

Josh said: “YMCA is a cause that is particularly close to our hearts, as it strives to provide support, opportunities, and resources to individuals and families in need. I really wanted to do my bit to raise awareness for the vital work that they do and it was good fun to take part too!”

YMCA Together is a charity working across the North West of England to support people who are experiencing challenging times in their lives. Founded in July 1846, it has been providing services to people who need it ever since.

CEO of YMCA Together Ellie McNeil said: “With Josh’s fundraising efforts, we will be able to further enhance our programs and services, reaching more individuals and making a greater difference in the community.

“We deeply appreciate the significance of individuals like Josh, who go above and beyond to fundraise for charities. Fundraising plays a pivotal role in helping organisations like YMCA Together to sustain and expand their operations, enabling us to provide vital resources and support to those who need it most.

“Through Josh’s commitment and determination, we hope to inspire others to engage in similar endeavours and make a positive impact on our local areas. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference in transforming lives and building stronger communities.”
