Laura Bicker: 18 Essential Years in the Making
North East business woman, Laura Bicker is celebrating 18 years of supporting thousands of women with health and fertility issues in the region.
Laura is a Women’s Health and Fertility Specialist who is powered by the use of her skills and experience in the field of Chinese medicine. Laura has cultivated an immense health and wellbeing portfolio of services which has seen the experienced and passionate entrepreneur work with a regional, national and international client base.
Laura was part of the team behind the opening of the North East’s first natural fertility clinic in Jesmond in 2015. The first of its kind in the North East, the clinic is dedicated to helping couples prepare for conception, pregnancy and birth as well as supporting those undergoing Assisted Reproduction techniques such as IVF.
Laura’s portfolio has grown to include clinics operating in both Jesmond and Whitburn, as a trained traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, Laura has blended and launched the popular Return to You Essential Oil collection, and Laura is also a trained Forrest and Fertility Yoga Teacher, running a host of classes and retreats, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Her background which has been predominantly in the area of fertility and IVF has supported couples across the North East to build their families. Laura has utilised her extensive training and expertise to help women with health and fertility issues powered through the use of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine.
Laura studied a five-year degree in traditional Chinese medicine which included six months in Beijing. Training in two of the city’s teaching hospitals, she experienced first-hand and saw how intertwined the use of herbs and acupuncture were to patient care within a hospital setting. Laura went on to receive a Bachelor of Medicine following this insightful and practical experience, and has used this skills base to build her bespoke business portfolio.
Chinese herbal medicine has been a key part of healthcare in Asia for thousands of years, and it is still used across the world and increasingly in the UK. As a classically trained TCM practitioner it is traditional to use herbal medicine along side acupuncture when treating certain conditions. The use of herbal medicine is very effective at getting to the root of more chronic and complex conditions.
Eight years in the making, following extensive research and product formulation with a team of aromatherapy experts the ‘Return to You’ popular essential oil collection is a key area that Laura is looking to expand further. Hand-blended in the heart of the North East and organically formulated with the finest ingredients, these popular blends have been developed using the wisdom of Chinese medicine.
Laura Bicker said:
“I am absolutely delighted to celebrate 18 years in the field, I’m immensely passionate about the work I do which has such an impact on my clients. My services and product range were initially developed for IVF clients, for each stage of the IVF cycle, however due to the wide application of the essential oils and strong demand I’m delighted to now roll out my services and range to support all aspects of women’s health in particular, the perimenopause and the menopause stages.
Formulated with the finest ingredients, these blends offer a moment to connect back to you, and can aid with a range of women’s health concerns including stress, anxiety, sleep problems, and headaches.“
Each blend offers a beautiful scent to enjoy with a ritual to create time and space for you to balance your hormonal journey and ‘Return to You’. The calming blend of ‘Down’, ‘Wait’, ‘Relief’ and ‘Pillow’, are now available under the MenoEO range, filled with precious organic essential oils and providing relief for the journey and for your second spring. With the national ‘Sleeptember’ campaign in full swing led by The Sleep Charity, September has also signalled a pivotal time for the team to relaunch the popular ‘Pillow’ Sleep Spray to the general market.
Laura added:
“We’ve had so much positive feedback from clients who continued to use ‘Pillow’ post treatment that we looked at other opportunities for the product to have mass-market appeal. September is a great time to relaunch, not only is it Sleeptember, but it’s post summer break when routines are out of synch. Sleep is critical to health and wellbeing, and a calming ritual is key to implement a good quality sleep routine.
We are very much looking forward to exhibiting and softly re-launching the range of products at the popular Ladies Day event in September, which is ran in association with Alzheimer’s Research, and we can’t wait to put our products in front of some of the regions leading business women. All ahead of a bigger campaign roll out in October, with demand regionally, nationally and internationally for the products we are really looking forward to the market response and the growth trajectory of the Essential Oil range.“
