North East property developer launches ‘luxurious’ Newcastle quayside apartments

North East property developer and investment group, Adderstone, has launched one of its ‘most luxurious’ apartment projects in the heart of Newcastle, overlooking the Quayside.

Nationally renowned developer and former Newcastle United FC chair Sir John Hall was guest of honour to mark the official launch of Hanover Point, in Clavering Place, near to the newly regenerated Stephenson Quarter.

The development features 10 bespoke apartments, across eight levels and situated within a gated, landscaped courtyard. Every contemporary styled apartment has panoramic vistas of the Tyne River.

Adderstone has a strong record for delivering high-end, residential properties and previously developed the North East’s ‘most valuable’ apartment, Moorlands Penthouse, in Gosforth, Newcastle, which sold for more than £1.35m.

Ian Baggett, founder and CEO of Adderstone Group, commented: “I was delighted when Sir John Hall agreed to officially open and launch Hanover Point.

“The Metrocentre transformed our lives as teenagers. We used to get the 611 down from High Spen, past the coke works at Winlaton Mill and hang out in Carrefour or the Red Mall on winter’s evenings! They said it would fail but people came across on ferries and coach trips from all over Europe to visit.

“Sir John showed me and an entire generation of entrepreneurs that it was possible to stay and build great businesses in the North East. He inspired me to become a property developer.”

As guest of honour at the recent launch event, Sir John provided a very personal review of his illustrious career, from his time developing the Metrocentre, to his years at NUFC, and Wynyard Hall. He stressed the importance of family values

Sir John said: “Ian and I go back a long way and it’s great to see him and his colleagues continuing to deliver these ambitious projects. More than ever, Newcastle and the North East needs brave developers who make markets.

“With all the talk of affordable homes it is important not to forget that the North East needs high quality homes if it is to retain and attract talent and ambition.”

Jan Dale, director of Urban BASE, which has been appointed to promote the development, concluded: “Due to the exemplary nature of this scheme, the unique high level riverside location, close to main transport hubs, and the overall high-quality design, interest from the local luxury-buyer market, investors and business executives is strong.”
