Leeds digital sports networking platform announces new partnership amid growth
Following a period of significant growth, Leeds based Digital Sport North has announced a new strategic partnership and sponsorship deal with commercial law firm Walker Morris.
Now a ‘thriving and expanding’ community for entrepreneurial startups and businesses, and for showcasing ‘cutting-edge’ sports and marketing technology, Digital Sport North was established in Leeds in April 2022 by Rob Powell and Andy Roberts.
Since its inception, it has seen a 300 per cent membership increase and it currently runs six annual sector events that it’s looking to now expand upon in the future.
The overarching aims behind Digital Sport North are to give those involved opportunities to drive connections, collaborate and find successful careers within digital sport in the North. Alongside this, the group wants to inspire the next generation of leaders in the sector and create more vocational opportunities.
Following a relatively short four-month consultation period, Walker Morris has now signed on as a sponsor and has already introduced some new contacts within sports and tech into the community.
It’s also believed that this latest sponsorship will significantly support the founders’ shared ambitions. What’s more, all parties hope this will lead to further similar opportunities and partnerships with other businesses.
Digital Sport North co-founder, Rob Powell, commented: “The sponsorship from Walker Morris will undoubtedly help us continue to grow this community and help fund further events. With their HQ so close to ours in Leeds, plus their own specialism and widespread connections within sports and the tech division, it’s a very good fit for us.
“We’re delighted the Walker Morris team has already got involved with some of our recent events and that they have expressed how keen they are to support us with something that helps grow the sector in the north.”
Luke Jackson, commercial director from Walker Morris, added: “We’re excited to be announced as the new strategic partner for Digital Sport North. We’ve been incredibly impressed by the quality of Digital Sport North events to date and are looking forward to seeing the community that Rob, Andy and the team have built continue to grow.
“This is a sector that we are truly invested in and passionate about and are thrilled to be able to support its growth over the next 12 months.”
