£300m development set to deliver tallest building in Brent granted the green light
London investor-developer and regeneration specialist Avanton, acting as a development partner with international real estate investment group Canada Israel, has gained a resolution to grant planning permission from the London Borough of Brent for Stonebridge Place, a ‘prestigious’ new residential-lead development in Stonebridge Park, Brent.
This £300m (GDV) ‘transformative’ project, which is set to deliver 515 homes alongside commercial space, marks a significant milestone in the regeneration of the site formerly known as Wembley Point, moments from Stonebridge Park train station.
Designed by the award-winning architects Patel Taylor, Stonebridge Place promises to ‘redefine the urban landscape’, providing a ‘striking’ addition to the Brent skyline.
The development consists of three distinct buildings, with the centrepiece being a 32-storey tower finished in terracotta. Upon its completion in 2027, this tower will stand as the tallest building in Brent.
Stonebridge Place is set to be a ‘remarkable addition’ to Stonebridge Park community, which came to life following the introduction of WEM Tower, a ‘landmark’ residential building also designed by Patel Taylor and managed by Canada Israel.
With 99.8 per cent occupancy, WEM Tower has already proven to be a ‘resounding success’. Stonebridge Place will complement this achievement, enriching the local neighbourhood and elevating the standards of modern urban living.

Sustainability is at the heart of the development, with a commitment to creating a 100 per cent biodiversity public realm. This focus on ecological responsibility underscores Avanton and Canada Israel’s dedication to enhancing the local environment and promoting green living.
The developers have also announced that Stonebridge Place will host the revered ‘Stonebridge Boxing Club’ within part of its commercial space, supporting a local charity with a mission to develop promising young boxers and make a positive impact in the area.
Originally submitted for planning approval in February 2022, the scheme included an ‘ambitious’ 35 per cent provision for affordable housing. However, in response to rising construction costs and interest rates, a collaborative decision was reached to reset the affordable housing allocation to 25.
Gil Selzer, UK Managing Director of Canada Israel, commented: “We are thrilled to continue expanding our London portfolio with the introduction of Stonebridge Place.
“Building on the incredible success of WEM Tower, this new development reaffirms our commitment to delivering a stylish and high-quality residential experience for young adults in London.”
