Plastic Mouldings Northern Ltd Celebrates 21 Years with Staff Expansion
The team at Bishop Auckland based Plastic Mouldings Northern Ltd (PMN) have marked their 21st business anniversary with the announcement of two new recruits to their experienced senior management team.
After moulding an expansive customer base which stretches from the North East to as far afield as Australia, the manufacturer which was established in 2002 by business partners Freddy Bourdais and Mark Rigg has grown year on year ever since inception.
Grace Collingwood joins the team as Internal Sales Co-ordinator, with Lewis Rigg as CAD/CAM Engineer. Both locally based, the duo alongside existing Sales Manager, Matthew Whittle all join the management team to help spearhead the company’s further progression in the ever-evolving industry.
The innovative and globally dynamic team have built up a prominent reputation across the manufacturing sector amongst customers and industry peers. Over the years PMN’s wealth of knowledge and prominent reputation has seen the company work with London Underground, McLaren, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, JCB and BAE Systems.
21 years on and PMN have bolstered impressive and continuous growth, increased the square foot to 45,000 with a recent new site acquisition, invested in key logistics and machinery, and the further investment and expansion of their management team will enable PMN to further mould their future in the sector.
The main output at PMN is the production of vacuum formed plastic parts, which sees PMN supply high quality and often very intricate moulded parts to an array of industries. The vacuum forming specialists have over 150 years combined experience in the field and their experience in this area continues to drive the company forward.

The company supplies clients nationwide and internationally with recent client contracts established to Australia and New Zealand. Their capabilities are highly innovative, supplying to the automotive industry, defence, aeronautical, medical, precision engineering and the food industry.

Lewis Rigg, CAD/CAM Engineer, Plastic Mouldings Northern Ltd said:
“Having started in the family business recently, further, to completing my degree, I’m developing my skills as a CAD/CAM engineer at PMN. The work is varied and I’m and looking forward to rising to the challenge to working on some interesting projects. My long-term goal is to also develop my skills further and follow my father’s footsteps in the management team.”
Alongside their esteemed reputation as vacuum forming specialists, PMN are one of the largest stockists of new plastic containers and plastic pallet boxes. They are also the largest dealer of reconditioned plastic pallets in the UK and are at the forefront of providing a more cost-effective and yet still durable option for customers.
In addition, PMN partner with the French firm, JOUPLAST® and hold the exclusive contract to distribute their adjustable risers (which ensure decking and paving slabs sit evenly) across the UK and Ireland. The products which recently featured on BBC DIY SOS are stocked by Homebase, Wickes, and Amazon.
