Southampton Marketing Manager named finalist in Hampshire Business Awards

A Marketing Manager at Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ Southampton division has been revealed as a finalist in this year’s Hampshire Business Awards, in the Young Person of the Year category.

Megan Hamlyn, 30, who started with the leading housebuilder in 2017 as a Site Launch Manager, moved to her Marketing Manager role in 2021. She has since consistently challenged and improved processes and her environment, not only with Barratt but also externally, with trades, charities, and community groups.

The marketeer’s comprehensive knowledge of the housing market, her creative flair, and determination to break down barriers, means she’s not only well-liked by her colleagues, but her achievements have also resonated positively with Barratt’s customers.

It is this dedication to her role, which has now seen Megan recognised in the 2023 Hampshire Business Awards. The highly respected awards celebrate the best in business and the people behind their success in Hampshire, and the Barratt Marketing Manager has been selected as a finalist in the Young Person of the Year category.

This category recognises individuals under the age of 35 who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and success in their field. The winner will be an individual who has shown exceptional promise and potential, with a clear vision for the future and a commitment to making a positive impact on society.

Talking about her nomination, Megan said: “The bar is set really high for this year’s awards and I am proud to stand alongside others in the industry who are doing some great work. Also, to receive recognition with an award like this is an honour and I am looking forward to seeing all the winners revealed on the night.”

Winners of the Hampshire Business Awards will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday 30th November at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre.
