'The UK’s largest vaping retailer' opens Metrocentre store

VPZ, the UK’s largest vaping retailer, has opened a new store in Newcastle’s premium Metrocentre shopping centre, underlining its commitment to helping more adult smokers throughout the North East quit.

VPZ Metrocentre is the retailer’s 163rd store and is its first opening in a major UK shopping centre, as the specialist ramps up its expansion plans and continues its mission to bring more stop-smoking support across the country.

The new store officially opened its doors on 15th December, bringing further investment and job creation in the North East.

The vaping retailer’s latest location will benefit from a new modern and progressive shop fit-out which has been adopted by other recent openings in the North East during 2023, including Killingworth and Cramlington.

VPZ Metrocentre will also introduce the retailer’s partnership with WasteCare which provides an industry-leading recycling service for vaping devices and e-cigarettes. Vapes contain lithium batteries and plastic and when littered they can cause harm to the local environment. The service is open to all vapers, where anyone can visit the new store and dispose safely of their vaping devices or e-cigarettes.

VPZ stores offer a dedicated one-to-one service to help smokers quit. VPZ specialists are trained and have expert knowledge, engaging with smokers to educate them on the health and financial benefits of switching to vaping.

Director Doug Mutter said: “We are thrilled to open our first major shopping centre location Newcastle’s Metrocentre, as we maintain our focus on bringing more support to the adult smokers in their journey to quit. Our latest location has our new sleek, contemporary design, which fits in perfectly with the progressive one-to-one customer experience that has helped over 700k people quit smoking.

“Metrocentre is a huge moment for VPZ and we are committed to bringing more investment into the area and more support in our fight against the nation’s number one killer – smoking.

He added: “We are also pioneering in the battle against the environmental impact of disposable vapes and are proud to have launched our vape recycling service across all stores.”

To date, Edinburgh-based VPZ has already helped over 700k smokers in the UK quit since it was established in 2012.
