New robotics company launches to champion UK SMEs

In a groundbreaking move set to disrupt the landscape of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Autrix, a dynamic robotic automation company, has launched with the mission of making automation accessible for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the UK.

Formed from leaders in the robotics space and talent from automation companies, Autrix aims to enable SMEs to compete globally through increased efficiency, productivity and innovation.

Autrix provides end-to-end automation services, from initial conversations about automation potential, to installation, to ongoing optimisation of automated systems. With a strong software focus, Autrix offers strategic guidance to help businesses determine how and where to implement automation to support their growth best.

Joe Daft, Managing Director and Founder of Autrix, emphasised the significance of empowering SMEs: "SMEs are the backbone of the UK economy, yet many struggle to keep up with larger competitors that have already invested heavily in automation. We started Autrix to give these smaller players a fairer chance, with automation solutions tailored to their needs and budgets, and the expertise to help them benefit as much as possible."

In a sector where SMEs lag with a mere 4 per cent adoption rate compared to their larger counterparts at 28 per cent, Autrix steps in as a revolutionary force. The global warehouse automation market has witnessed a meteoric rise, reaching $19.78bn in 2023 with a compelling CAGR of 14.2 per cent. Forecasts predict further expansion, soaring to $33.59bn by 2027 (source: Warehouse Automation Global Market Report 2023).

The leadership team at Autrix brings decades of experience in delivering solutions within the SME space. By exclusively focusing on SMEs, Autrix can offer customised and cost-effective automation services that allow these companies to achieve quick wins, foster innovation, and gain a competitive edge.

Ian Shay, Co-Founder of Autrix and Director of L&S Engineers, emphasised the pivotal role of automation in the future of manufacturing and business, stating,

“While automation has been essential, resource constraints means that for most SMEs its implementation has been challenging. Autrix aims to change this narrative, becoming an invested automation partner for SMEs across the UK, dedicated to their success.”
