Yorkshire Based Access Platform Company Celebrates 16th Birthday
Yorkshire-based powered access hire provider, Horizon Platforms, recently celebrated their 16th year in business. Over the past decade and a half, they have achieved remarkable milestones and built a business on a foundation of dedication, innovation, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
From fulfilling over 328,000 contracts to passing 42 ISO audits, the Horizon Platforms team has shown a dedication to quality and operational excellence. They have also empowered circa 20,000 delegates through training programs, contributing to their growth, while helping to shape the future of the powered access industry. Moreover, passing 5 IPAF Rental+ audits with flying colours underscores their commitment to safety and best practices.
Beyond business, they have remained deeply committed to giving back to the community, raising over £35,000 for charity, including £12,699 for their charity partner in 2023, Andy’s Man Club through a screwball rally, climbing Scafell Pike as a partner event, a casino night and Christmas jumper day, alongside many other efforts.
Their charity partner for 2024 has been chosen as Dogs Trust and the team are looking forward to continuing their charity efforts this year.
In recent years, Horizon Platforms gave back to their team when they became the first employee-owned powered access company, Meaning team members now have a greater say over the direction of the business and have the potential to receive a share of annual profits.
Dave Williams, Onboarding Manager at Horizon Platforms, shares his thoughts on the 16th anniversary,
“The transformation from Horizon’s humble beginnings to now is phenomenal. Since I joined in 2008, I’ve seen the business go from a local powered access company to a thriving national hire business, located in a state-of-the-art super depot and employing some of the best powered access experts in the UK. In addition, our Horizon-led partner network is thriving and delivering some truly outstanding customer experiences, all underpinned by a ‘can do’ and ‘safety-first’ attitude. Horizon has that family feel, not just because we’re now a co-ownership but everyone does their best to go above and beyond for each other, the customers, and our partners. The future for Horizon is positive, and our co-owners are committed to continuously working hard to evolve our service and make sure we always focus on what matters most to our customers. I am truly proud to be a part of something amazing.”
