APDO Set to Inspire at 14th Annual Conference
The Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers (APDO) is gearing up to host its 14th annual conference on the 7th and 8th of March, bringing together a significant line-up of UK and international speakers.
Taking place in London at the Doubletree by Hilton Docklands, this year’s event has the theme of ‘Inspiring a Sustainable Future’, which is designed to provoke meaningful conversations around how professionals in the decluttering industry can prioritise sustainable practices.
Marianne Winter, speaker at the conference and Founder of The Organizing Company® will be taking sustainability even further by cycling to the event from the Netherlands.
Visitors can expect to hear from top experts during an action-packed two days of exchanging knowledge and ideas, as well as gaining access to several engaging workshops. Speaker topics include digital productivity, the psychology of consumerism and addiction, hoarding, and much more.
The conference provides a valuable opportunity to meet, network and gather information to improve business skills, interpersonal skills and services, not only for APDO members but also for aspiring organisers and professionals linked to the professional organising industry.
The conference is being supported by sponsors The Hanger Store, Fill Refill, Spaceways, A Place for Everything and the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD).
Representing a new offering for 2024’s event is a workshop being hosted by the Institute for Challenging Disorganization on Chronic Disorganization. This is open to all and will be held the day before the conference on March 6th from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
Siân Pelleschi, President of APDO, commented: “With a buzzing atmosphere, inspirational speakers, a chance to make new connections and learn new skills, the APDO Conference is set to help attendees elevate their businesses to the next level. The conference is open to everyone, not just APDO Members, and with delegates coming from across the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, and Asia we look forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces.”
Siân continued, “This year’s conference puts sustainability in the spotlight, and with the growth of the professional organising sector this is more important than ever. The event promises to be a great opportunity for our community to get together and discuss how we can drive our industry forward by contributing to a sustainable future. The theme of the conference also opens the conversation around sustainability at the perfect time, ahead of Spring Clearing Week, APDO’s annual initiative to help the UK declutter which will be held 18th – 24th of March this year.”
APDO, the UK’s membership association for decluttering and organising professionals, sets standards, provides professional development and supports the growth of the industry. Founded in 2004, APDO is a non-profit organisation and belongs to a global community of professional organising associations which foster collaboration to advance the industry through sharing information and ideas.
