New multi-million-pound Dundee entertainment centre announces opening date

Bowling fans on the east coast of Scotland can look forward to “exciting ten pin action” after Hollywood Bowl Group started work on its new £3m centre in Dundee.

Set to bring “affordable fun and entertainment experiences” to the city, Hollywood Bowl Dundee will offer family and friends a taste of modern LA when it opens its doors for the first time in May.

Work is now underway at the new centre, which joins the already popular Odeon on Douglas Road. No pin will be left standing as it is set to feature 20 ten pin bowling lanes, state-of-the-art amusements, a fabulous bar and diner and even a dedicated party zone.

The centre will also create up to 35 new, local jobs, offering Dundee residents the opportunity to benefit from Hollywood Bowl’s training and development programmes, opening the door to careers within the leisure and hospitality industry.

Laura MacDougall, Centre Manager at Hollywood Bowl Dundee, commented: “It’s time to let the good vibes roll as we start work on what is set to be a fantastic new family entertainment centre which will bring modern LA bowling entertainment to life right here in Dundee.

“Hollywood Bowl has built a strong reputation for delivering affordable family experiences across the UK and we can’t wait to welcome all ages and abilities from across the city to have fun and make memories together in our new state of the art bowling centre, ready just in time for summer.”

On top of ten pin bowling fun, guests who visit the centre will also get to enjoy its American-style bar and diner featuring a selection of delicious food and drinks, including American classics such as hot dogs, burgers, shakes and signature cocktails.

Hollywood Bowl’s famous amusements area will offer leading games such as Mario Kart, as well as all time family favourites including air hockey and racing games. Hollywood Bowl Dundee will open from 20th May 2024, with pre-bookings being taken a month before.
