Shaftesbury Capital welcomes Arc'teryx for new Covent Garden flagship

Shaftesbury Capital has announced that Arc’teryx, the high-performance outdoor apparel brand, has now opened its new flagship store within the newly refurbished listed building at 41-42 King Street in Covent Garden. This follows previous success on Long Acre and represents a key milestone within the brand’s brick-and-mortar journey, and the continual pull of Shaftesbury Capital as the go-to location for expansion within the West End.

Arc’teryx’s new flagship store spans 8,000 sq ft and delivers a wide variety of the brand’s technical gear, footwear, and accessories, incorporating a range of outdoor sports such as trail running, climbing, hiking, skiing and more. The new space also provides a range of services, such as Arc’teryx’s circularity programme, ReBIRD™, which focuses on the care, repair, and up-cycling of its products. The space boasts a clean and minimal interior, as well as a community room and knowledgeable product guides to enhance the visitor experience.

The brand has been a part of Shaftesbury Capital’s portfolio for over two years, and its move to King Street illustrates the active management delivered by the leading landlord and the recommitment of a high-quality name to Covent Garden.

Arc’teryx’s new flagship store sits alongside a raft of retailers on King Street, such as Creed, Glossier, Hackett, Jo Malone London, Mejuri, Polo Ralph Lauren and Reformation, and enhances the performance wear line-up across the whole portfolio, joining HOKA, Peloton, Axel Arigato and Vivo Barefoot.

Michelle McGrath, Executive Director, Shaftesbury Capital, commented on the opening: “We are pleased to support Arc’teryx’s growth within Covent Garden and deliver a newly refurbished heritage space for the brand to thrive. Its significant upsize onto King Street is a testament to the unique opportunities we provide as well as our role in nurturing and investing in our customers, whilst we continue to create a thriving, experiential mixed-use district.”

Sven Radtke, EMEA General Manager, Arc’teryx, also said: “Covent Garden is a key location for us, and we are delighted to have been given the opportunity to expand our presence and be situated alongside such iconic and renowned brands. Similar to our Long Acre store, this space will transcend our brand ethos to an even higher degree with more options for visitors and accessible services available. Shaftesbury Capital has been paramount to our brand exposure within the UK, and we look forward to welcoming new and dedicated customers into our new space.”
