Towngate PLC unveils flooring giant Likewise Floors Ltd as newest tenant

Leading industrial and commercial property specialist, Towngate PLC is thrilled to announce that Likewise Floors Limited, a subsidiary of the Likewise Group PLC, has secured a pre-let on two newly constructed industrial units at the Towngate Business Centre in Walkden.


Likewise Floors Limited has signed a 10-year lease for Units 3E & 3F, comprising a combined industrial space totaling 18,197 sq. ft. As part of the agreement, Towngate PLC has offered flexibility to accommodate the specific needs of the tenant, including the construction of additional office space. 


Occupation of the units by Likewise is expected to commence from early May 2024.


Likewise Group PLC is one of the UK’s largest distributors of floor coverings and matting. As a result of strategic expansion efforts, the firm has significantly bolstered its market presence and profitability, commencing 2024 with a 12% sales surge and laying solid foundations for the coming months. 


Tom Lamb, property manager at Towngate PLC, expressed his excitement about the new tenancy, stating, "We are absolutely delighted to offer a solution to the Likewise Group’s expansion plans in the Manchester area. It’s a pleasure to have been able to accommodate certain bespoke requirements as part of the agreement. We very much look forward to welcoming them as tenants to the Towngate Business Centre."

The newly constructed industrial units form part of a terrace of six units, ranging in size from 5,450 – 45,695 sq. ft. Situated on a fully secured site with single-point access, the build boasts modern amenities including high-quality office accommodation. Green credentials include thermally efficient cladding, energy-efficient LED lighting, EV charging points, and PV solar panels. These features will not only reduce CO2 emissions on the site, but also lead to lower occupational costs for its inhabitants.


Towngate Business Centre is conveniently located off Lester Road and is easily accessible from Manchester Road West (A6) — providing immediate access to the Northwest motorway network, with Junction four of the M61 Motorway within close proximity.
