Three services your small business should be outsourcing

Outsourcing is a common practice for many businesses when it comes to certain activities – and SMEs are no different.

In fact, more than one third of SMEs outsource some form of activity.

Owen Campbell, Kura operations director, says: “Outsourcing not only helps manage workloads better, but it can ensure all businesses have the right expertise and people in place to provide high-quality services.

“This can be especially useful for SMEs that don’t have time and resource to create whole teams within their business structure.”

But what can SMEs outsource? And what benefits does outsourcing deliver?

Customer service

Happy customers are crucial for any business, and solutions to ensuring such include call centre outsourcing.

Seasonal demands put a lot of pressure on SMEs.

It is, therefore, important to recognise the uplift in work at the earliest point possible and gain the support of a trusted outsourcer.

Not only can their workforce help ease some of the stress, but their expertise can comfortably manage the demands and expectations of customers during a busy period.

Owen says: “Outsourcing customer experience activity ensures you’ve got expertise in place to manage difficult and sensitive conversations with empathy.

“And a trusted outsourcing partner can also streamline customer communications using an omnichannel solution to bring together social media, email, telecommunications and more.”

Sales

Efficient sales strategies are essential for improving revenue and growth, and many SMEs will find success in outsourcing to an established sales team.

This team can provide the service as a third party without time delay, as there is no need to set up a new sales team, buy equipment or expand office space.

Debt collection

According to figures, nearly half of all SMEs (46 per cent) still had unpaid invoices by the end of the 2022/2023 financial year.

Such loss of revenue can not only cause financial difficulties but also damage reputation and lead some SMEs (39 per cent) to consider making reductions.

Finding the right support through experienced debt collectors is therefore vital to both securing a business’ finances and retaining customer relationships.

Owen adds: “Not only can a payment support outsourcer help a business chase missing invoices and get financials paid, but, by using software and data analysis, they will be able to better support customers who might be at risk of debt.”
